my performance at The Windmill last summer

my god it was so hot

thank you to Tyler for inviting me to play! and to Oakley for doing poetry with my sounds! and to all my friends for coming and being cool and laughing or responding to my stage banter, it's lovely to hear you all in the recording. And thanks Abel for videoing a lil bit of it! the album cover photo is a still from that video

I remember being in my tiny room, in the place I was living at the time, working on this set and just sweating so much. The people I was living with weren't sure if I was warming up or if it was actually music. So you can decide for yourselves

I don't really plan to revisit any of this material, so I thought I'd release the live recording, which was just made with a handheld recorder on the stage

As I mention during my stage banter, quite a few of the tracks were based on little improvisations I did in the forest in Wales a couple of weeks before this performance

Others are alternate versions of tracks I've released elsewhere

There's a lovely poem by my friend Oakley, with some funs sounds and her reading it out

As I also mention, there's a poem by Elizabeth Bishop in there, called One Art, that I'm reading out. And some poetry by myself but in recorded form

The Windmill is kind of an awesome venue, so this was a really special night for all sorts of reasons

I've included all the audio files I used as bonus tracks if you want to hear them or use them, as always, all my stuff is creative commons attribution share alike, so just credit me if you do use any of it!
